As a business idea, this had wheels!

Back in 2005 we were promoting ourselves as "Water Fed Pole / Window Cleaner Insurance Specialists" but there was a problem, no insurers were providing a replacement WFP fitted van in the event of a motor accident, fire or theft.  Worse still there was no one else you could pay to hire one from.

By 2008 things were no better, so what were we going to do about it?  Buy our own van, kit it out and provide a valuable service to our client’s that would have otherwise struggled to carry on working, that’s what!

These days it is becoming easier than it used to be to get hold of vans fitted with a water fed pole system; predominately via accident management companies but it’s not automatic and you are best advised to make provisions if you are unable to operate your business without your most essential business asset. 

Alexander Swan Insurance Services Ltd pride themselves on being the first broker (and remain the only insurance broker) to invest in their own fleet of Reach and Wash fitted vans. This service has become highly popular which has enabled us to grow our fleet and supply to non-Alexander Swan clients as well.

Hence the need to divide the businesses; A S Vehicle Hire Ltd has been standing on its own wheels since 2015.
